- 1 cup spinach leaves (optional filling)
- 4 slices mozzarella or provolone cheese
- 4 slices deli ham or cooked bacon (optional)

- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- For Creamy Sauce:
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish lightly.
- Place chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound to an even 1/4-inch thickness.
- Season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
- Place a slice of cheese and ham or spinach on each chicken breast. Roll tightly and secure with toothpicks.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken rolls until browned on all sides, about 4–5 minutes total. Transfer to the prepared baking dish.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually add milk and heavy cream, whisking constantly until smooth and slightly thickened.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese, nutmeg (if using), salt, and pepper. Simmer until the sauce is creamy and coats the spoon.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken rolls in the baking dish.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce is bubbling.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
