- 1 (5.1 oz) package instant vanilla pudding mix
- 2 3/4 cups cold milk
- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 3–4 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 (11 oz) box vanilla wafer cookies
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional garnish: crushed cookies, banana slices, or whipped cream
- In a large bowl, whisk together pudding mix and cold milk for 2 minutes. Let sit for 5 minutes to thicken.
- Stir in sweetened condensed milk until smooth. Chill for 10–15 minutes.
- In another bowl, whip heavy cream with vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold whipped cream into the pudding mixture until fully incorporated.
- In a trifle dish or large glass bowl, layer vanilla wafers, banana slices, and pudding mixture. Repeat layers until the dish is full, ending with pudding on top.
- Garnish with additional whipped cream, crushed cookies, or banana slices as desired.
- Chill for at least 2 hours before serving to allow flavors to meld and cookies to soften.
Notes
- Use ripe but firm bananas to avoid browning and mushiness.
- Trifle can be made up to 24 hours in advance and stored in the fridge.
- For added flavor, drizzle layers with caramel or sprinkle with cinnamon.
- Individual trifles can be assembled in jars or cups for easy serving.
