Beef & Pea Pasta Skillet (Irish-Style)

Beef & Pea Pasta Skillet (Irish-Style) is a hearty, one-pan meal featuring ground beef, tender pasta, sweet peas, and a creamy, savory sauce with traditional Irish-style flavors. It’s an easy and comforting dinner perfect for busy nights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup milk
  • 8 oz short pasta (such as penne or rotini)
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp dried parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup shredded Irish cheddar cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
  2. Add diced onion and garlic to the skillet and sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Stir in beef broth, milk, dried thyme, dried parsley, and pasta. Bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat to a simmer, cover, and cook for 10-12 minutes, or until pasta is tender, stirring occasionally.
  5. Stir in frozen peas and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Optional: Stir in shredded Irish cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with additional parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Use ground lamb for a more traditional Irish flavor.
  • Swap Irish cheddar with regular cheddar or leave it out for a lighter version.
  • This dish is great for meal prep and reheats well.
