Buttered/Seasoned Cod Fillets

Tender cod fillets baked with butter, herbs, and simple seasonings for a light, flavorful seafood dish.

  • 4 cod fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp dried parsley or fresh chopped parsley
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 lemon, sliced or wedged

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels and place them on the baking sheet.
  3. Brush the fillets with olive oil, then pour melted butter evenly over the top.
  4. Season with garlic powder, paprika, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  5. Add lemon slices on top or around the fillets.
  6. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the cod flakes easily with a fork.
  7. Serve warm with vegetables, rice, or potatoes.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine before baking.
  • Use smoked paprika for a deeper, richer taste.
  • Great with steamed broccoli or roasted potatoes.
