- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 1 large egg
- 3 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- For the caramel sauce: 1 cup granulated sugar
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter, cubed
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- Pinch of salt
- In a bowl, whisk the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and mix gently until just combined.
- Heat a lightly buttered skillet over medium heat and pour 1/4 cup batter for each pancake.
- Cook until bubbles form on top, then flip and cook until golden brown.
- For the caramel sauce, heat sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until melted and amber-colored.
- Add butter and whisk until incorporated.
- Slowly pour in heavy cream while whisking; cook 1–2 minutes until smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in a pinch of salt.
- Serve pancakes warm with caramel sauce drizzled on top.
Notes
- Do not overmix the pancake batter for maximum fluffiness.
- The caramel will thicken as it cools; warm it slightly if needed.
- Add sliced bananas or pecans for added flavor.
