- 300 g plain tea biscuits, crushed
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips or chopped chocolate (for topping, optional)
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil (for melting chocolate topping, optional)
- Line an 8×8-inch (20×20 cm) pan with parchment paper.
- Place crushed biscuits in a large mixing bowl.
- In a saucepan, melt butter, sugar, cocoa powder, and milk over medium heat, stirring until smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Pour the chocolate mixture over the crushed biscuits and mix until evenly coated.
- Press the mixture firmly into the prepared pan.
- If adding a chocolate topping, melt chocolate and oil together and spread over the slice.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until firm.
- Cut into bars or squares and serve.
Notes
- Add chopped nuts or dried fruit for extra texture.
- Use digestive biscuits or graham crackers as alternatives.
