Chocolate-Dipped Apple Slices with Shredded Coconut, Toasted Nuts, and Seeds: A Quick, Healthy, and Elegant Treat

Quick, healthy, and elegant, these chocolate-dipped apple slices are topped with shredded coconut, toasted nuts, and seeds for a naturally sweet and crunchy snack or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large apples, sliced into 1/2-inch thick rounds
  • 1 cup dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp coconut oil (optional, for smoother melting)
  • 1/4 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/4 cup toasted chopped nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts, pecans)
  • 2 tbsp mixed seeds (e.g., chia, pumpkin, sunflower)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice (to prevent browning)

Instructions

  1. Slice apples into rounds and remove the core from each slice. Brush lightly with lemon juice to prevent browning.
  2. Melt chocolate chips with coconut oil (if using) in a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler until smooth.
  3. Dip half of each apple slice into the melted chocolate and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Sprinkle shredded coconut, toasted nuts, and seeds over the chocolate-dipped portion while still wet.
  5. Let set at room temperature or chill in the fridge for 10–15 minutes until chocolate hardens.
  6. Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to 1 day.

Notes

  • Use firm apples like Honeycrisp or Fuji for best texture.
  • Try variations with dried fruit pieces or a drizzle of white chocolate.
  • Best enjoyed the same day to maintain crispness.
