- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs, separated
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- Pinch of salt

- Heat heavy cream in a small saucepan until just steaming, then pour it over the chocolate and butter in a bowl. Let sit 2 minutes.

- In a separate bowl, beat egg whites with sugar and a pinch of salt until soft peaks form.
- Fold the whipped egg whites gently into the chocolate mixture until fully combined.
- Spoon mousse into serving cups and chill for at least 2 hours.
- Top with whipped cream, chocolate shavings, or berries before serving.
