- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup Christmas M&Ms
- 1/2 cup holiday sprinkles
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until combined.
- Fold in M&Ms and sprinkles.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized dough balls onto the baking sheet.
- Bake for 9–11 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- Chilling the dough for 30 minutes helps prevent spreading.
- Press extra M&Ms on top of the dough balls before baking for a festive look.
- Use any color sprinkles to customize for other holidays.
