- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- 1/2 cup ketchup (divided)
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp mustard
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a loaf pan with parchment or lightly grease.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, parsley, and 1/4 cup of the ketchup.
- Mix gently until just combined—avoid overmixing.
- Transfer mixture to the loaf pan and shape into a loaf.
- In a small bowl, whisk together remaining 1/4 cup ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Spread evenly over the top.
- Bake for 55–65 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Substitute part of the beef with ground pork for a softer texture.
- Add diced bell peppers or shredded carrots for extra moisture.
- Leftovers make great sandwiches.
