  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
  • Parmesan cheese, for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook spaghetti according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sauté until softened.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
  4. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, pepper, and sugar if using.
  5. Simmer the sauce uncovered for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Toss cooked spaghetti with sauce and serve topped with Parmesan cheese.
