- 12 ounces bow tie (farfalle) pasta
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
- Cook bow tie pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add garlic and cook for another 1 minute.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Stir in Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Sprinkle flour over the beef and stir to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes to remove raw flour taste.
- Gradually pour in milk and beef broth, stirring constantly. Bring to a simmer and cook until sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in Parmesan and mozzarella cheese until melted and creamy.
- Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce.
- Serve warm, garnished with chopped parsley if desired.
Notes
- Use heavy cream instead of milk for an extra rich sauce.
- Ground turkey or chicken can be used as a substitute for beef.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
