  • 1 whole chicken (about 3.54 lbs), giblets removed
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or melted butter
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp dried thyme or rosemary
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Optional: lemon slices or fresh herbs for stuffing

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels.
  2. Rub the entire surface with olive oil or melted butter.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, herbs, salt, and pepper.
  4. Rub the seasoning mixture all over the chicken, including under the skin and inside the cavity.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 360°F (182°C).
  6. Place the chicken breast-side down in the air fryer basket.
  7. Cook for 30 minutes, then flip the chicken breast-side up.
  8. Cook for an additional 20–30 minutes, or until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  9. Let rest for 10 minutes before carving.
