Fluffy Pancakes

Classic fluffy pancakes that are light, airy, and perfect for a comforting breakfast. Made from scratch with simple ingredients, these pancakes are sure to become a family favorite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • Butter or oil for cooking
  • Maple syrup or toppings of choice (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk, egg, and melted butter. Mix until smooth. Do not overmix.
  3. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake onto the griddle.
  5. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look dry, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Flip and cook the other side until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes more.
  7. Repeat with remaining batter, adding more butter or oil to the pan as needed.
  8. Serve warm with maple syrup or your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the batter; a few lumps will result in fluffier pancakes.
  • Let the batter rest for 5–10 minutes before cooking for best results.
  • You can substitute buttermilk for regular milk for a tangier flavor and even fluffier texture.
