Fudgy Chocolate Brownies are ultra-rich, gooey, and deeply chocolatey treats with a crackly top and dense center. Perfect for chocoholics, they’re a timeless dessert ideal for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 8 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chunks (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and chopped chocolate together, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
  3. Whisk in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until well combined.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, whisking vigorously after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold into the mixture until just combined.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips or chunks if using.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs (not wet batter).
  9. Cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.

Notes

  • Slightly underbake for extra fudginess.
  • Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days or refrigerate for longer freshness.
  • Add espresso powder or sea salt for a flavor twist.
