Garlic Parmesan Spaghetti

A simple yet flavorful pasta dish made with spaghetti tossed in garlic-infused olive oil, butter, and plenty of freshly grated Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz spaghetti
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook spaghetti in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta cooking water, then drain the spaghetti.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and butter.
  4. Once butter is melted, add minced garlic and red pepper flakes.
  5. Sauté for 30–60 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to brown the garlic.
  6. Add cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat.
  7. Add a splash of reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce if needed.
  8. Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
  9. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for best texture and flavor.
  • Add grilled chicken or shrimp for extra protein.
  • Serve immediately for the creamiest consistency.
