- 14 oz firm tofu, drained and pressed
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp maple syrup or honey
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
- 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Cut the pressed tofu into 1-inch cubes or slices.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add tofu and cook until golden on all sides, about 6–8 minutes.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, maple syrup, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and chili flakes.
- Pour the glaze mixture into the skillet with tofu.
- Cook for 2–3 minutes, stirring gently, until the glaze thickens and coats the tofu.
- Season with salt and pepper if needed.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle with fresh herbs.
- Serve warm with rice, noodles, or vegetables.

- Press tofu well to achieve a firmer, crispier texture.
- Use maple syrup instead of honey for a vegan option.
- Try basil or mint for a different herb profile.
