Grilled Beef Kofta Skewers

Grilled Beef Kofta Skewers are a Middle Eastern-inspired dish made with spiced ground beef shaped onto skewers and grilled to perfection, offering a smoky, juicy flavor ideal for cookouts or quick dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 for juiciness)
  • 1 small onion, grated
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Wooden or metal skewers (if wooden, soak in water for 30 minutes)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, grated onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, allspice, salt, and pepper.
  2. Mix well using your hands until fully combined and sticky.
  3. Divide the mixture into 6-8 equal portions and shape each portion around a skewer into a long oval or sausage shape.
  4. Preheat grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates.
  5. Grill the kofta skewers for about 4-5 minutes per side or until cooked through and nicely charred.
  6. Remove from grill and let rest for a few minutes.
  7. Serve hot with pita bread, yogurt sauce, or a fresh salad.

Notes

  • You can substitute beef with lamb or use a mix of both for traditional flavor.
  • Serve with tzatziki, hummus, or tahini sauce for added flavor.
  • These can also be cooked under a broiler if a grill is unavailable.
