- 1 small onion, grated
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Wooden or metal skewers (if wooden, soak in water for 30 minutes)
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, grated onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, allspice, salt, and pepper.
- Mix well using your hands until fully combined and sticky.
- Divide the mixture into 6-8 equal portions and shape each portion around a skewer into a long oval or sausage shape.
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates.
- Grill the kofta skewers for about 4-5 minutes per side or until cooked through and nicely charred.
- Remove from grill and let rest for a few minutes.
- Serve hot with pita bread, yogurt sauce, or a fresh salad.
Notes
- You can substitute beef with lamb or use a mix of both for traditional flavor.
