Grilled Honey Garlic Chicken Skewers

Grilled Honey Garlic Chicken Skewers are tender, juicy chicken pieces marinated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, then grilled to perfection for a flavorful and easy-to-make dish ideal for cookouts or weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Wooden or metal skewers
  • Optional: chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, olive oil, garlic, vinegar, and black pepper to make the marinade.
  2. Add chicken pieces to the marinade and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 1–2 hours.
  3. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 20 minutes to prevent burning.
  4. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  5. Thread marinated chicken pieces onto the skewers.
  6. Grill skewers for 10–12 minutes, turning occasionally, until chicken is cooked through and slightly charred.
  7. Optional: brush remaining marinade over the chicken during the last few minutes of grilling for extra flavor (if marinade was reserved before raw chicken was added).
  8. Remove from grill and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Marinate the chicken overnight for deeper flavor.
  • Can be cooked on a stovetop grill pan or under the broiler if a grill is not available.
  • Serve with rice, noodles, or grilled vegetables for a complete meal.
