- 8 oz (225g) wide egg noodles
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
- Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and place in a large bowl.
- Stir melted butter into the noodles until evenly coated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, cream, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon (if using), and salt.
- Pour the custard mixture over the noodles and stir to combine.
- Fold in the chocolate chips or chopped chocolate.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the custard is set and the top is lightly golden.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
