- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract; whisk until fully combined.
- Sift in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Drop spoonfuls of peanut butter over the top of the batter and swirl gently with a knife or toothpick.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Use natural peanut butter for a less sweet swirl, or sweetened for more contrast.
- Don’t overbake — the brownies should be slightly gooey in the center.
- Can be stored in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
- Try adding chopped nuts for extra crunch.
