  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: 1 tsp lemon juice or zest
  • Optional: 1 tbsp chopped herbs (parsley, thyme)
  • Optional: Pinch of red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Rinse and trim sugar snap peas, removing any stringy seams.
  2. Heat olive oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds to 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
  4. Add sugar snap peas and toss to coat in the garlic oil.
  5. Cook for 4–6 minutes, stirring frequently, until bright green and tender-crisp.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Remove from heat and add optional lemon juice or herbs before serving.

Notes

  • Use high heat and short cooking time to preserve color and crunch.
  • Don’t overcook garlic—add peas before it browns.
  • Leftovers can be added to salads or grain bowls.
  • Customize with sesame oil, soy sauce, or Parmesan for flavor variations.
