Savory Steak & Cheese Cookies are hearty, flavorful baked bites combining chopped steak and melty cheese in a soft, seasoned dough—perfect for parties, snacks, or a creative twist on comfort food.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup cooked steak, chopped or shredded
  • 1/2 cup sharp cheddar or mozzarella cheese, cubed
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Optional: 1 tsp chopped herbs like thyme or rosemary

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Season chopped cooked steak with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Set aside.
  3. In a bowl, cream butter with egg. Stir in flour, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until dough forms.
  4. Fold in steak and cheese cubes evenly.
  5. Scoop dough onto baking sheet, pressing slightly. Add extra steak and cheese on top for garnish if desired.
  6. Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Cool slightly and serve warm for best taste and texture.

Notes

  • Best served warm for melty cheese texture.
  • Use chilled dough to minimize cheese leakage.
  • Customize with different cheeses, herbs, or spicy add-ins.
  • Great way to use leftover steak.
  • Freeze baked cookies for quick reheating later.
