Sloppy Joe Sliders with Pickled Jalapeños & Red Onion

Mini beef sliders drenched in tangy, savory Sloppy Joe sauce, topped with spicy pickled jalapeños and crisp red onion—all nestled in soft slider buns for a bold, bite-sized treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs ground beef (85/15)
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce or ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1216 slider buns
  • Pickled jalapeños, to taste
  • 1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Butter (optional, for toasting buns)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté diced onion until soft and translucent, about 3–4 minutes. Add garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Add ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned and crumbled, about 5–7 minutes.
  3. Stir in tomato sauce (or ketchup), brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until sauce thickens. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  4. Optional: Butter the insides of slider buns and toast on a skillet until golden brown.
  5. Spoon Sloppy Joe mixture onto bottom halves of buns. Top with pickled jalapeños and red onion slices. Add top buns.
  6. Serve warm, arranged on a platter for easy grabbing.

Notes

  • Add smoked paprika or chipotle powder for a smoky twist.
  • Swap beef with plant-based ground meat or lentils for a vegetarian version.
  • Top with cheese like cheddar or pepper jack for extra indulgence.
  • Use Hawaiian rolls for a sweeter slider or gluten-free buns if needed.
  • Reheat meat gently with broth or water; assemble fresh for best texture.
