- 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1 tbsp vegetable or olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp red chili flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp rice vinegar or lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp sugar (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Blanch green beans in boiling water for 2–3 minutes, then drain and rinse under cold water to keep them crisp.
- Heat oil in a skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add green beans and stir-fry for 3–4 minutes.
- Stir in chili flakes, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sugar if using.
- Cook another 1–2 minutes, tossing to coat evenly.
- Season with salt and pepper and serve warm.
